Wet Thursday
The view from my study today is like looking at the world from a fish tank - or perhaps it’s the other way around. Good weather for indoor activities. Like writing. Agh. Had a short spell of inspiration yesterday and had my main character buying an apartment. It’s nice to have him doing what I would like to do. Though this one wasn’t in Stockholm, but in Krakow, Poland. Went to the movies in the evening and saw Colin Nutley’s ‘Heartbreak Hotel’. Nice, but light. Well acted, Helena Bergström and Maria Lundqvist both excellent. Sad that there is so little cultural interaction between my two small home countries. Last year’s two successful New Zealand films, ‘Number Two’ and ‘Sione’s Wedding’ would do well in Sweden, I think, as would ‘In my father’s den’. The Swedish film ‘As it is in heaven’ has been running here for over six months. But no other Swedish movie has made it here from Sweden in a long time. Nor any Scandinavian literature or music - other than Henning Mankell. And New Zealand culture never reaches the far north. ‘Overseas’ here in New Zealand seems to mean the UK. I could go on about this, but will leave it at that today.
Must return to Krakow.

I too have a very good friend called Linda Olsson - could this be a coincidence?

No, I have a suspicion that I am the one… How are you, Erica?
